HOW DOES THIS ALL WORK?

Business Hours

Business hours are are flexible. We can work as early as 7am and can provide an evening walk as late as 9pm. Below is a general schedule:

Mornings - 8am - 12pm

Afternoons - 1pm - 4pm

Evenings - 5pm - 8pm​

Convenient Care in Your Neighborhood

For optimal service and reduced travel time, we prioritize caring for animals within a 3-mile radius of our location in North Oakland. This ensures we can dedicate the necessary time and attention to your pet while minimizing travel costs.

Flexible Options for Broader Coverage:

While we prioritize the 3-mile radius, we understand needs may vary. We are happy to discuss caring for your pet outside this area. However, a slightly higher fee may apply to cover additional travel time and expenses.

Paws Up Procedure for Setting Up Pet Care

We set up a free 20 minute Meet & Greet visit to make sure it is a great match. We agree upon dates and rate of service. You provide us with all of the information that we need so that your pet is in the best care. We schedule, we confirm, you pay. We come to your house as it is always best for the pets to be in a place that is familiar to them! If you choose not to use me after the Meet & Greet, we will need to charge a $25 fee.

Communication During Visit

We like to be able to have clear communications during the visit, both in case of emergency, and to let you know that your pet is doing great and to be able to send pix your way. You can fill out THIS FORM to address the needs of you and your pets.

Planning Ahead

To ensure your furry friend receives dedicated care while you're away, booking our services in advance is highly recommended. Schedule tends to fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons like holidays.

Early booking offers several benefits:

Guaranteed Availability: Secure your preferred care dates and avoid potential scheduling conflicts.

Peace of Mind: Knowing your pet's care is arranged allows you to focus on your trip preparations with confidence.

Holiday Rates

Holiday rates will be $12 additional or each visit. Holidays include:

Easter Weekend (2 days)

Memorial Day Weekend (2 days)

Martin Luther King Jr. (1 day)

4th of July (2 days)

Labor Day (2 days)

Thanksgiving (2 days)

Christmas Eve & Day

New Year’s Eve & Day

Payment Details

We accept cash, checks, Venmo, Paypal. We can receive payment before, during & up to 3 days after the pet care.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel in less than 24 hours, we charge 50% of the total. Thank you for giving me as much advance notice as possible!

Paws Up is Licensed & Insured

Paws up is insured by Pet Sitters Associates, LLC

Video Policy (in your home)

Please respect the privacy of your pet sitters at Paws Up for Pets. Please do not record video without express permission. If you would like to have video recording in your home while we are providing pet care services, please let us know in advance. Please give Paws Up the option to either cover the video, or turn it off during the visit. Paws Up does not want to be videoed while in your home. Thank you!

Care for Other Species of Animals

We have taken care of many a chicken, a bearded dragon, a chinchilla, guinea pigs. turtles and fish. We are open to meeting other species of pets and learning to take care of them! Cost is taken into consideration for this, let’s talk!

* Transparency is important! While we have a wealth of experience caring for most animals, we are not comfortable caring for snakes.
